Our Nerite snails hail from the Caribbean waters and LOVE to eat algae. One of the hardiest snails around - they are worth their weight in gold- making your tank look sparkly new. A beautiful zebra pattern is typical however many variations of that pattern can be seen from browns to yellows. They are small snail that is an easy addition not creating a concern for your rock work.

Ordered a couple of these with free shipping deal. They eat tons of algae and 2 of them were huge. They will climb above water line though.

Recently ordered 25 of these. They are awesome hardy little snails. They do tend to climb out of the tank, one actually made it down to the carpet, but i put him back in the tank and he went back to work.

Great cleaners of algae on rocks and tank walls. Liek another has said they do come out of the water. Non have come out of the tank (to date its been over a month). Size varies but more are marble size or smaller; a few were very large but have not knocked anything over.

Best of the bunch! I love these guys, because they will keep your tank almost algae free. Not big on Slime algae, but they will keep shells, live rock and glass pretty clean. I recommend, 1 per gallon in your tank. They work and eat all day long. They occasionally take a break. These snails do mate during the good times and leave egg casings, on the glass, rock work, shells and equipment. I have yet to see the young survive long enough to become adults. I've read they need brackish water too...

Nerite Snail
These snails were bigger than I expected, marble sized and bigger. Being nocturnal they hang around the top of the tank daytime but at night they go down the glass to eat algae. Make sure you have a tightly sealed tank. Somehow 3 of mine got into my overflow box and climbed into the U-tube slowed the water flow causing the return pump to slightly overfill the tank and cause a leak. My fault for not keeping a closer eye on the water level in the sump. That being said, they are a great addition...

These are great little snails perfect for a reef aquarium. They are an intertidal, so they will climb above your water line, but I haven't lost any yet. Perfect for a nano or larger aquarium.
