Hawkfish are great reef animals. They are eager eaters, and will perch high up to view the rest of the reef! Be wary if you have small shrimp or tiny crabs, however, as these will grab them and bash them against the rocks to break them up and eat them. It's fun on occasion to feed them "ghost shrimp" as a treat, but this shouldn't be done often since ghost shrimp are fresh water animals and don't have enough nutrients. |
