The White Pearl Bubble Coral (Physogyra sp) belongs to the classification of large polyp stony (LPS) coral. The White Pearl Bubble Coral is also known as a Grape Coral, Small Bubble Coral, or Octobubble. It comes in shades white to creamy tan & has small balloon like polyps that have a delicate tip on the end. The Pearl Bubble, like many of the same type of corals, has long sweeper tentacles, that it can sting other corals that may be attempting to steal its place on the reef. Place place coral carefully to allow the sweeper tentacles plenty of room. Sweeper tentacles can be best seen at night with the use of red flashlight. (Normal flashlight covered with a red balloon. The Pearl Coral requires moderate lighting with low to moderate flow. Its skeleton is pokey along the edges and to much flow will attach the soft skin of the bubbles.
