The red gorgonian is a filter feeder, which enjoys non lateral flow. Due to the fact that it is NON photosynthetic, it is an excellent choice for the underside of a rock ledge. The presence of light or lack thereof, is a non essential for the gorgonian, however you will need to supplement your tank with zooplankton or phytoplankton on a regular basis. | |= COMMON NAME: ||= Red Gorgonian | |= SCIENTIFIC NAME: ||= Gorgonia sp. | |= SIZE AVAILABLE: ||= ~ 2-4 inches | |= MINIMUM TANK SIZE: ||= 20 gallons | |= FOOD/DIET: ||= Filter Feeder | |= CARE LEVEL: ||= Moderately easy | |= REEF SAFE: ||= Yes | |= AVAILABILITY: ||= Most always available - 99% |

Red Gorgonian
Like Lisa, mine was much taller than advertised! I also bought a yellow gorg that I mounted directly in front of the red. The yellow with red background is nothing short of amazingly beautiful! It's only been two days, but the red's polyp extension is increasing by the hour. A couple more feedings and it should be in full bloom. Thank you for this beautiful specimen, R2G!!! (I should say "these spcimens" as I also got a beautiful yellow gorg!)

Red Gorgonian
I am so happy with my Red Gorgonian. It was a lot taller than listed. At first, it didn't open up for days. Then I did a little research and found it likes strong water flow. It started opening up almost immediately after I moved it. It really adds a lot of color and variety.

Red Finger Gorgonian
I was weary of getting a gorgonian online, however this beauty started opening up after the 3rd day and oh my this thing gets more looks than my sps. The risk was well worth the reward. Thanks Reef2Go!
